With another Superbowl just around the corner, we at PledgeSports compiled a list of the winners from the last 20 years of the Superbowl. Before we get into the list, let’s have a look of some of the remarkable financial figures that surround the big Superbowl Sunday event.

Superbowl Winnings – Aside from the regular salaries each player receives during the regular season, each player on the winning side of the Super Bowl will receive a massive $112,000. This is an increase of $5,000 from last year. It’s not too shabby for players on the losing side either with each player reportedly being given a $56,000 sum.

Ads at the Superbowl – The last two years of the Super Bowl has seen ratings decrease, however it still remains the biggest event of the year amongst americans. Over 100 million people in America will be tuning in to the event and cheering on their team. With these huge viewing figures, Adverts are obviously come at a cost. The average price for a 30 second spot is said to be valued at more than $5 million. Reports say the total ad spend will reach more than half a billion dollars when the game comes to a close.

1998 Winner –  Denver Broncos

Super Bowl XXXII was contested between the Denver Broncos and the Green Bay Packers in San Diego, California. Broncos overcame a tough battling Packer’s side and won the game 31-24.

1999 Winner – Denver Broncos

The Broncos returned to the Super Bowl the following year and yet again came out on top against Atlanta Falcons in Miami, Florida. The game ended 34-19.

2000 Winner – St. Louis Rams

The Georgia Dome played host to Super Bowl XXXIV. St. Louis Rams came out victorious over the Tennessee Titans.

2001 Winner – Baltimore Ravens

The Super Bowl was back in Florida once again as the Ravens battled past the New York Giants with a scoreline of 34-7.

2002 Winner – New England Patriots

The Patriots defeated St. Louis Rams 20-17 infront a strong crowd in New Orleans, Louisiana and were the 2003 Super Bowl winners.

2003 Winner – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

At Super Bowl XXXVII, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Oakland Raiders 48-21 in the Qualcomm Stadium, California.

2004 Winner – New England Patriots

Houston, Texas was the home of Super Bowl XXXVIII. The Patriot’s came through a close encounter with Carolina Panthers to win the game by 3 points, 32-29.

2005 Winner – New England Patriots

The Patriot’s were back in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years as they took on the Phildelphia Eagles. The game was fought right to the end in Jacksonville. Patriot’s won the game 24-21.

2006 Winner – Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks met in the 2006 Super Bowl. The Steelers won the game by a margin of 11 points, final scoreline was 21-10.

2007 Winner – Indianapolis Colts

It was the Colts versus the Bears in the Super Bowl of 2007. Colts closed out the game well and were crowned Super Bowl champions in Miami Gardens, Florida.

2008 Winner – New York Giants

The Patriot’s were yet again in the final  with Tom Brady at their side, however it was not good enough to beat the New York Giants.

2009 Winner – Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals in Tampa Bay by 27-23 at Super Bowl XLIII.

2010 Winner – New Orleans Saints

The Saints came through the final game of the season with a win over the Colts  in Miami, Florida. The game was an exciting tussle between two very eager sides. The game ended 31-17.

2011 Winner – Green Bay Packers

The Steelers and the Packers contested Super Bowl XLV in Texas. Packers were just too good on the day and won the game by 6 points in the end.

2012 Winner – New York Giants

New York Giants and the Patriots put on a showdown in Indiana at Super Bowl XLVI. Giants were triumphant and crowned Super Bowl winners on the day and won 21-17.

2013 Winner – Baltimore Ravens

New Orleans, Louisiana played host to the incredible match up between the Ravens and the 49ers. It was the first time the 49ers were in final in the last decade but fell short to a tough Baltimore team 34-31.

2014 Winner – Seattle Seahawks

A masterclass from the Seahawks overwhelmed a Broncos team and left them humilated 43-8 in New Jersey.

2015 Winner – New England Patriots

The Seahawks returned to the Super Bowl in 2015, but the New England Patriot’s were just too good on the day 28-24 was the final score.

2016 Winner – Denver Broncos

Broncos were champions of the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California against the Carloina Panthers. 24-10 and a 14 point winning margin was the final outcome on the day.

2017 Winner – New England Patriots

One of the greatest Super Bowls we are ever likely to see. The Falcons let a massive lead slip and the class of Brady and co. showed as an incredible second half performance helped the Patriots to a 34-28 win.

2018 Winner – Philadelphia Eagles

For the first time in their history, Philadelphia Eagles came out on top over the New England Patriot’s in Minnesota. I guess everyone thought that last year’s Super Bowl could not be topped but that was not the case. It was an incredible game, Brady vs. Foles, everything was on the line. Both teams produced moments of class and skill. Foles was the MVP and the only man ever to set up a touchdowna and score a touchdown in the Super Bowl. A game for the ages!
