The Longest Run Ever Attempted €“ 20,000 miles across the US (Forrest Gump style!)
On October 1st, Jim Plunkett-Cole (JimGump) set off on what is the longest run ever attempted. 20,000 miles and 3 years of running stand between Jim and the history books. In preparation for his monster-trek, he ran 10km every day, without fail, since the beginning of 2013.
Jim is recreating the infamous cross-country trek from the 1994 Oscar-winning film, Forrest Gump, hence his apt nickname. Over the 1,172 day run, Jim will turn the famous fictional run into an astonishing reality, this will most likely cost 100,000 +.
And Jim is doing it all for an amazing cause.

Similar to Audrey, ultra-runner Michael Wardian plans to attempt the same extreme challenge €“ running 7 ultra-marathons, on 7 different continents in just 7 days. Michael is an American marathoner and ultra-marathoner. He won the 2008, 2009 and 2010 US 50 km Championships. In 2008, he won the U.S. National 100 km championship.
